evil hast a name
Tags: evil centaur

evil hast a name, it be advia centaur immunoassay system!

beware this name for it too shall put thee into the mouth of madness and thus grind thy soul beneath its fowl unability to complete daily cleaning.

seriously i have tried and failed over 10 times to make it do its daily cleaning. each time, a different error. i swear these things have a sensor that detects when lab workers want to go home and it makes the instrument cease to work properly until it is the normal time for them to leave. then it works smoothly and blinks all innocently at my swearing or i so hope will happen. the working, not the blinking since it has no eyes and that would be really really weird.

yesterday the hospital computer system crashed. of course as always i was on the chemistry ER bench so i didn't get to eat dinner until 910pm and i had to pee the whole damm time the thing was out. lets just say that made for some frantic running when it started working again and i could leave.

ok it still doesnt' work, shame on it. if only it didn't make a sound worse than a baby crying when it failed.

anatomy and physiology lab
so today my fellow anat and phys class taker came over and we tried to do the prelab for our (wait for it) lab tomorrow. well it amounted to labeling parts of the brain. unfortunatly since the lab manual has been photocopied and photocopied there is no fricken way you can tell what the little line is pointing to let alone what the shape of the thing you are trying to figure out is. vey frusterating espically since one smart ass person put the diagram going one direction and the words in the opposite direction, i felt like i should get one of those lazy susan's people use for scrabble. anyway we basically ended up guessing since none of the pictures looked like the hand drawn things. sad huh? thank goodness the book has good photos and yahoo images is helpful. i just hope the exam is not by hand drawn diagrams or i might have to protest loudly. i normally don't go for this type of behavior (i get a's) but seriously people, technology may be great but eventually you lose pixalation and the things you keep copying and copying turn into random lines of goo. i will try to take a photo and put it on this blog so you can all see the fun i endured. aren't classes fun?

what am i? an outcast genuses...is that good or bad?
Outcast Genius
52 % Nerd, 56% Geek, 52% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in all three, earning you the title of: Outcast Genius.

Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occassion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject).

Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.

Congratulations!

today and the house
Tags: gutters

ok so i bought a house in july, yea me!

anyways i don't know when the gutters were last cleaned but since i got a trickle of water during our 22 inches of rain rainstorm i figured it would be a good idea to determine how long since anyone cleaned them. well obviously last year. gross. i had to borrow a friend's ladder since i didn't have one of my own and cannot just buy  a ladder since they are so expensice. cleaning gutters is nasty work but kind of fun. i got covered with mud and no one could yell at me. i need a taller ladder or perhaps i should wait until the roof is dry so i can walk on it. anyone have any gutter cleaning tips? i have never cleaned gutters before so not really sure what not to do. well hopefully my ladder using skills continue since i didn't fall once. i did find using a sturdy stick helped so i didn't have to move the ladder so much. having white gutters is  bad ideas since now they look like they are bleeding. hopefully no wet in the basement!

class

i had my first day of class this semsester! yes i know the proper response to this should be, that sucks. but i am actually thrilled to be back in school. i am taking anatomy and physiology 2 and the prof seems very well organized which is a nice change from the last one. it is horrible that i have 4 hrs of school and then 8 hrs of work back to back but such is life. no pain no gain i guess. it is weird to be surrounded by all the youngesters and the fact that i am a non traditional student instead of being "on of them" amazing how things change.

work was very much horrible, i am so glad that unlike previous relationships my relationships with the lab instruments get to end everynight at 11 and i get a different one the next day. on a side note someone sent me flowers, or well something. i got a slip in my door saying they(flower shop in town) tried to deliver but i was out. i wonder who it was. my family does not do unpractical gifts like flowers so whom could it be...i guess i will have to call the shop and see. perhaps i have a secret admirer? ha. highly doubtful. but nice to hope right?

i have been watching battlestar galactica, excellent show even for you non scifi fans. nice dialogue and character building, very good plots and twists. now i just need to decide if i want to make some popcorn with my new popper or just go drink another glass of iced tea. humidity is like 98% or more and there are tornado watches happening. perhaps both choices since they do not conflict taste wise. anyone have some good tips on how to beat the humidity besides getting a air conditioner? perhaps a bowl of dry ice and a fan? i have heard drinking hot liquids like they do in the middle east helps but i don't know...perhaps tomorrow i will try it. for all of you out there starting school this week, good luck. for all of you starting next, savor these last precious drops of freedom. (i am sure i will read this blog in a month or two and go what the bleep was i thinking for taking this stupid bleeping class...perhaps not  )
